How to Setup your Voice Recordings to be
Transcribed by Quicktate and Saved in Evernote...
In 4 Easy Steps:

There are numerous voice recording apps developed for the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile, that can deliver your audio recordings by email. You can use this simple delivery feature to have your voice recordings automatically transcribed and saved in Evernote.

What To Do:

  1. If you don’t already have an Evernote account, create one here. You will need to know your Evernote email address in Step #4.
  2. Make sure your Quicktate account is set up. Learn more.
  3. Set the recording format on your favorite app to wav or mp3.
  4. Enter your Evernote email address as the default destination for your audio recordings. You only need to do this once.

How It Works:

  1. When you record an audio file, follow your app's guidelines so that it gets emailed to Evernote.
  2. Evernote then "notifies" Quicktate that you have a new audio file.
  3. Quicktate electronically retrieves and transcribes it.
  4. After your file is transcribed, Quicktate will email you the transcript* and deliver a copy to your Evernote account for storage and search. The transcript will be posted in your Notebook immediately below the original audio note.**

* Quicktate also saves the transcript in your Quicktate account, along with the word count for that file, and the total word count for all your files, grouped by month.

** Also included will be the word count as well as a "contact" button to alert Quicktate in the event you wish to talk to us about that particular file.
